Faucet Repair Services

That little drip from your faucet might not seem like a big deal, but after listening to it day after day, it gets old pretty quickly. Not to mention all the water going down the drain. The good news is that a dripping faucet doesn’t always mean you need a brand-new one. Often, the problem comes down to a worn washer, O-ring, cartridge, or another small internal part. R.A. Hoy repairs and replaces kitchen and bathroom faucets for homeowners throughout the Outer Banks. Whether your faucet won’t stop dripping, the water pressure isn’t what it used to be, or you’re simply ready for an upgrade, we’ll take a look and figure out what makes the most sense.

FAQs

Why does my faucet keep dripping even after I've tightened it?

If you’ve tightened the handle and the faucet is still dripping, the problem is probably inside the fixture. Worn washers, O-rings, or cartridges are common causes of faucet leaks. In fact, tightening the handle harder usually won’t solve the problem and can put even more wear on the internal parts. We’ll take a look inside and figure out what’s actually causing the drip.

Can my faucet be repaired, or do I need to replace it?

Most common faucet problems can be repaired. If you’re dealing with a drip, loose handle, or another relatively minor issue, replacing the worn internal part may be all that’s needed. Replacement tends to make more sense when the faucet itself is corroded, the finish is badly worn, or replacement parts for an older model are difficult to find. We’ll help you decide which option makes more sense before you spend money on a new fixture.

Why is my faucet's water pressure lower than it used to be?

A clogged aerator is one of the most common causes, and fortunately, it’s usually an easy fix. If cleaning or replacing the aerator doesn’t solve the problem, there may be something else going on with the faucet, supply line, or your home’s overall water pressure. If multiple fixtures seem to have low pressure, that’s usually a sign it’s worth looking beyond the faucet itself.

How much water can a dripping faucet actually waste?

More than you might think. Even a slow drip adds up when it’s happening 24 hours a day. A faucet dripping around once per second can waste thousands of gallons of water over the course of a year. That’s a lot of water, and money, to lose over what may be a relatively simple plumbing repair.
