Sewer Line Services
One slow drain is frustrating. When several drains start backing up at the same time, there’s a good chance the problem is happening deeper in your plumbing system.
R.A. Hoy provides sewer line inspection, clearing, and repair for homeowners throughout the Outer Banks. If you’ve noticed multiple slow drains, gurgling toilets, or sewage odors around your home, we’ll help figure out what’s actually going on before jumping into a repair.
We use camera inspections to get a look inside the sewer line and pinpoint the source of the problem. That could be a stubborn blockage, tree roots growing into the line, or a section of pipe that’s shifted or become damaged over time.
Once we know what we’re dealing with, we can recommend the right next step, whether that’s clearing the line with hydro jetting or repairing a damaged section of pipe.

Sewer Line Camera Inspections
When the problem is underground, guessing isn’t a great strategy.
A sewer camera lets us see inside the line and locate the issue before we start any work. Instead of digging up your yard just to find the problem, we can determine where the blockage or damage is and get a better idea of what’s causing it.
That makes it easier to recommend a repair based on what your sewer line actually needs.
Sewer Line Clearing & Repair
Not every sewer problem means the pipe needs to be replaced.
If the line is blocked, hydro jetting may be able to clear away buildup and other debris and get things flowing again. If the camera inspection shows a damaged section of pipe, we’ll talk you through the repair options and what makes sense based on the location and condition of the line.
The goal is to fix the actual problem without doing more work to your property than necessary.

FAQs
What are the signs my sewer line needs repair?
The biggest clue is when several plumbing fixtures start having problems at the same time. Multiple slow or backed-up drains, gurgling toilets, sewage odors near a cleanout or in the yard, and unusually wet or lush patches of grass above the sewer line can all be signs that something needs attention. If it’s just one slow sink or shower, you’re more likely dealing with a clog in that individual drain. When the whole house starts acting up, it’s worth taking a closer look at the sewer line.
Can a sewer line be repaired without digging up my whole yard?
In many cases, yes. We’ll start with a camera inspection so we can locate the problem instead of digging just to find out where it is. Depending on the pipe material, location, and extent of the damage, we may be able to focus the repair on one specific section of the line. If a trenchless repair is an option for your situation, we’ll talk you through it along with any other repair options.
What can I do to help prevent sewer line clogs or damage?
Start with being careful about what goes down your drains. Avoid flushing wipes and keep grease and other materials out of your plumbing system. Generally, only toilet paper and waste should be flushed. If you have an older Outer Banks home or mature trees near your sewer line, having the line camera-inspected periodically can also help catch things like root intrusion before they turn into a full backup.
